Privacy Notice

This notice explains what personal data Shortfolios ("we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.

1. Building a portfolio on our site is private

When you try the builder on our homepage, everything runs in your own browser. The video files you drop in are previewed locally on your device and are not uploaded to us or anyone else. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to place an order.

2. What we collect when you order

• Details you enter: name, professional role, tagline, stats, niches, chosen template, social media links, and email address.
• A link to your video files (for example a Google Drive or Dropbox folder), and the video files we download from it in order to build your portfolio.
• Order information from Paddle: which product you bought, and confirmation of payment. We do not receive your full card number.
• Correspondence if you email us.

3. Why we use it

• To build, deliver, and (for Pro) host your portfolio — this is performance of our contract with you.
• To contact you about your order.
• For Pro customers, to present your portfolio to studios and agencies as part of our editor roster. You can opt out at any time.
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

4. Published information

Your portfolio is a public web page. Everything you choose to put on it — your name, role, links, and videos — is publicly visible by design. Please only include information you are happy to publish.

5. Who we share it with

Only service providers needed to run the service:

• Paddle — payment processing and merchant of record.
• Netlify — website hosting and order form submissions.
• Cloud storage/CDN providers — hosting your video files for your portfolio.
• Email provider — to correspond with you.

We may also disclose data where legally required.

6. International transfers

We operate from Ukraine and use service providers located in the EU, UK, and US. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

7. How long we keep it

• Order details and your portfolio configuration: while we host your portfolio, and afterwards only as long as needed to support you or meet legal obligations.
• Your video files: kept while your portfolio is hosted, so we can republish or update it. Deleted on request.
• Payment and tax records: retained by Paddle and by us as required by law.
• Unfinished orders (where you started but did not pay): deleted within 12 months.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your data, to receive a copy in portable form, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us — we respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Cookies and analytics

Our own site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting and payment providers may set strictly necessary cookies required for the site and checkout to function.

10. Security

We use reputable providers, HTTPS across our site, and limit access to order data to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Our service is not directed at people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
